I have been building distributed systems for twenty-two years. Identity and access management in a public cloud, then SIEM and CNAPP — problems where a mistake is expensive and the load leaves no room for careless design.
I like code that someone can still read in ten years. I wrote the PostgreSQL extension temporal_tables in 2013 for one specific requirement: keeping a history of changes the way SQL:2011 describes it. We never ended up using it for that, but the extension stayed — a thousand stars, fifty forks, and people I have never met.
I grew up in Irkutsk, then moved to Moscow, and now live in Belgrade. Away from the keyboard: running, math problems, genealogy, the piano, and learning languages.
